The year was 1978...

and the country was in economic turmoil. Times were tough. It was not the best time to go into business, unless you knew how to take care of customers. Patrick Chandler was such a fellow. A veteran of the sign industry, Mr. Chandler worked at several sign companies prior to founding Chandler Signs. One customer became two. Then three. Soon, Chandler Signs made a name for itself handling a major retail pharmacy conversion. Eventually, Mr. Chandler stepped aside and sold Chandler Signs to a partnership lead by Rockford V. Gray.

Solid growth

Eventually, Chandler Signs outgrew it's one office and became a national presence in the sign industry. Chandler Signs now performs large scale conversions on fast-tracks for the banking, medical, retail and hospitality industries. We are unique in the sign industry as we were the first sign company in the U.S. to be certified to perform L.E.D. sign conversions by UL®. We take pride in each and every product we manufacture from the largest high-rise sign to the smallest hotel room number plaque.

Now under the leadership of 45 year sign veteran Gary Stevens as CEO (most of that with Chandler), Chandler Signs expansion and modernization is fully underway.

Manufacturing and Engineering

All of our manufacturing and engineering is performed on-site at our new Fort Worth headquarters or our newest plant in Anaheim, CA. Our engineering design and art design departments average over 20 years sign industry experience per person. That means experienced, expert eyes keep track of your project at all times.

Today's Chandler Signs At-A-Glance

•We have two manufacturing facilities, one in Fort Worth, TX (175,000 sq. feet) and one in Anaheim, CA (23,000 sq. feet).

•Chandler Signs employs over 300 dedicated individuals, many of whom have spent 10 or more years with the company.

•We have established a reputation for quality, dependability and professionalism. Our signs have been installed throughout the United States and many foreign countries.

•Chandler Signs maintains a large installation and service fleet, as well as a huge nationwide network of sub-contractors allowing us to reach any address in North America.

•Large conversion programs are no problem here. We have seamlessly performed many, multi-location bank conversions as well as large-scale conversions for companies such as CVS Pharmacy, Marriott, Hilton, Levi’s and Rite Aid, among others.

•Chandler Signs has over 50 Project Managers who, with their teams, work on a daily basis with our sales representatives and installation teams to provide smooth, up to the minute service for our customers.

Tony Quintero

Vice President

Central Texas District Manager

Tony began his career in the sign industry 30 years ago and joined Chandler Signs in 1998. His vast experience of successfully working on major sign programs and top-notch leadership skills led him to his current position in charge of Chandlers’ Central Texas office. Tony holds an associate degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Houston.

Patrick Journagan

SVP/Sales & Marketing

Patrick brings solid management experience to Chandler’s Central Texas District. Patrick joined the Chandler family with over 15 years experience in both operations management and general management in the retail and heavy equipment sectors. Patrick is a graduate of Trinity University and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.

Tom Holden

VP/West Coast

Tom is a highly experienced sign designer and engineer. Having studied at Virginia Tech Architecture and Urban Studies as well as Old Dominion University Mechanical Engineering—he is well qualified to lead design and manufacturing teams in sign design. He has over 20 years of sign industry experience and is a licensed professional engineer.


Mark J. Vergenz

SVP/Strategic Sourcing

Mark's career began in March of 1984, manufacturing signs in the shop. His combined (29) years of experience includes plant supervision, estimating, job cost analysis, and sales management. Mark joined Chandler Signs in 1998, and assumed the responsibility of Plant Manager for the 80,000 square foot addition to our Dallas manufacturing facility. Within 2 years, he was promoted to Manager of the Estimating Department. In 2002, he moved into the position of Manager of the Sales Support Staff, which included Design, Estimating, and Project Management. In 2005, Mark was named the District Manager for the Dallas Group, which includes all activities relating to Sales and Sales Support.

Gary Stevens

Chief Executive Officer

With 45 years of experience in the sign industry, he has an in-depth knowledge of all phases of sign construction and manufacturing. A true craftsman in every sense, his vast experience and skill is transferred directly to the manufacturing floor. Gary not only leads the company's R&D (Research and Development) efforts, he also spearheads the development of contemporary sign construction techniques.
